They say the average person entertains about 6000 thoughts a day.
Is this a mere consequence of neurons firing like cosmic constellations or does each thought hold a universe of meaning that stretches beyond the ‘tangible’?
I often look for meaning in these fleeting sparks, hoping it all makes sense someday.
There is a nihilist in me, someone who thinks that we might be a glimmer in the vast arrow of time, devoid of an overarching purpose. Some would perceive this as contradictory.
Yet, in my reflection, I find room for both hope and nihilism to coexist. This, I call nuance - a recognition that life probably isn’t as stark black or blinding white as we believe, it’s anything but bipolar, it’s grey.
Life is a contradiction in all measures.
To exist in this digital age, to have the ability to access and comprehend ideas of people that live in physically distant lands, is uniquely empowering.
I’m an advocate for recognizing and acknowledging privileges that are contingent on the circumstances of our birth and - to be alive, connected, and capable of influencing the world through the mere touch of a screen is a remarkable one at that.
I don’t take myself too seriously and neither should you. Errors are inherent. The human brain processes close to 74 gigs of information everyday. Perceptions change, so do contexts. It’s essential to have fluidity of thought.
The ‘minimalistic misfit’ isn’t just a buzzword. What it represents is so much more important. I consider it a deeply purposeful project. It is an endeavour to build a digital haven that houses all my ideation, research and commentaries.
I’ve often wondered why quick, attention-grabbing content takes precedence in everyday discourse.
Who am I kidding? It’s pure biology. I suppose humans haven’t evolved to be curious, they’ve evolved to chase survival.
Most of the themes I enjoy dissecting, have very little mass appeal. I have no desire to seek validation on the internet. I write about concepts that I internally find fascinating / noteworthy.
I enjoy delving into subjects deeply - ( nuance matters) . I generally avoid falling for algorithmic bs and evade political correctness. Additionally, it’s always interesting to record the evolution of my own thoughts, analyzing both how and why my worldview changed through time.
If you've journeyed with me this far, congratulations are in order. You've displayed a commendable attention span. Feel free to reach out. All feedback is welcome.
Signing off.
Yours sincerely,
A minimalistic misfit.
This is pretty unique!
Enjoyed the bit on 'Nuance' and why it's important.
